The Minnesota Timberwolves’ troubling form against winning teams continued vs. the Phoenix Suns.

Despite the Phoenix Suns missing their dynamic duo of Devin Booker and Jalen Green, the Minnesota Timberwolves suffered a 108-105 defeat.

As a result, the Timberwolves have now dropped to a 15-9 record, but they are in the seventh seed in the Western Conference.

Speaking of the matchup, Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert made headlines, but for all the wrong reasons.

Rudy Gobert gets ejected after elbowing Mark Williams

During the third quarter of the high-octane game, Gobert was fouled by Mark Williams, as the Suns center slapped the head of the 4x NBA Defensive Player of the Year.

Gobert was understandably furious, but he avoided any revenge, or so most NBA fans thought, as Williams was slammed with a flagrant 1 foul.

However, just a few minutes later, Gobert got his revenge by elbowing Williams in the abdomen region.

While Williams managed to walk away with a flagrant 1 foul, the officials weren’t so easy on Gobert as he was ejected from the game.

Anthony Edwards on Rudy Gobert’s ejection

After the game ended, Timberwolves superstar Anthony Edwards was asked about his thoughts on Gobert’s ejection.

Edwards explained how the T-Wolves missed Gobert’s presence in the paint, which led to a three-point defeat.

“You can’t make up for Rudy’s absence. When he’s in the game, it’s like they don’t want to go down there and finish. So of course, he’s truly missed when he’s not on the court,” Edwards said.

Indeed, the Timberwolves missed Gobert’s presence as the Suns outscored them 24-21 in the final quarter of the matchup.
