Is Moises Caicedo joining Arsenal?

Well, there’s a heck of a lot of speculation about it anyway.

On Friday, Arsenal saw a £60 million offer for the Brighton & Hove Albion powerhouse – who earns £15,000 per week [Spotrac] – turned down.

And speculation is mounting that the Gunners will try again before Tuesday’s transfer deadline.

Caicedo himself went rogue and posted a series of tweets, hinting of his desire to leave the Seagulls before the transfer window shuts.

And according to Ben Jacobs, speaking to Give Me Sport, the player’s new agency are ‘pushing’ for a departure.

He said: “You never say never in a market where the player has got a new agent and they are pushing at their end to explore possibilities because they know that a move to either Arsenal or Chelsea is a huge opportunity for their client.”

So, is Moises Caicedo joining Arsenal?

If the North Londoners had their way, yes.

But Brighton have already lost a big player in the form of Leandro Trossard – who also joined Mikel Arteta’s side – this month.

And losing another would disappoint Roberto de Zerbi no end.

It certainly isn’t too late for Arsenal to get this done, because things happen very quickly in football when all parties are working together.

Question is, will the Gunners and Brighton see eye to eye before then? Potentially not.
