Arsenal fans are not going to like Sol Campbell’s comments…
Sol Campbell has claimed Teddy Sheringham is the greatest all round striker he played with during the course of his career.
Campbell played with Sheringham at Tottenham Hotspur, and while the talent of the Manchester United treble winner is undeniable, the choice is a little surprising.
Sol Campbell and Teddy Sheringham
This is because Campbell had the privilege of playing alongside several top goalscorers during his career, from ex-Arsenal teammate Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp, to former England teammate Alan Shearer and ex-Spurs pal Jurgen Klinsmann.
Campbell made the comments to 888Sport ahead of the North London derby, a clash between two of his former clubs, and he also talked up current Tottenham striker Harry Kane, who he compares to Sheringham.
He said: “The best all-round striker I ever played with was probably Teddy Sheringham. Jurgen came close.
“Teddy didn’t have the running ability but he had time, could pass, and had intelligence. He was savvy. There are similarities between those two guys though Kane is more mobile. They have similar technique and in the type of goals that they score.”

Sheringham was a clever goalscorer, able to link play, create goals, and score them himself, and had many different facets to his game.
The same praise you could use to describe Dutch maestro Dennis Bergkamp, while Thierry Henry really was the definition of an all round striker, and in the view of many, the best player of the Premier League era, winning the Golden Boot four times.
