Tottenham Hotspur fans have reacted on Twitter to Ryan Mason’s comments about Gareth Bale’s future at the club.
At the end of the season, Bale will return to his parent club in Real Madrid, with uncertainty about where he will really end up next.
It’s not even known who will be in the Tottenham dugout, with the current man donning the touchline stating that there is a ‘conversation’ to be had with Bale, Spurs and Real Madrid at the end of the season, as quoted by the Evening Standard.
Bale has looked quality in bursts this season, but if he returns to Spain with Spurs finishing in a Europa League position then will they feel they got the best out of their left-footed talent?
There’s no doubt that if Bale, along with Mason, can guide Spurs to that top-four finish then cries of both being at the club next season will only increase.
Even if Bale isn’t in North London for the 2021/22 campaign, it begs the question as to whether Madrid will really want to keep him on?
One thing is for sure, his popular status amongst the Spurs fans hasn’t changed and it does seem more would edge towards him staying.
But with Daniel Levy yet to decide on a new manager, fans will be hoping the club don’t shoot themselves in the foot.
This a crucial period for Tottenham. If they get this right, including having Bale on board for another campaign then things might just start to look a lot rosy in the garden.
