Jack Grealish isn’t everyone’s cup of tea in Newcastle, after his previous comments about Miguel Almiron, but he is appreciating what Callum Wilson is doing in England training.

After the Newcastle and Manchester City duo linked up during England’s opening Group B game win against Iran, Grealish was then heard praising the 30-year-old out in the searing heat of Doha in Qatar.

England’s official YouTube account posted footage of the players in action, ahead of their final group game against neighbours Wales.

The players were taking part in various training drills, including small-sided games and one-touch finishing when a cross was put into them on the edge of the box.

Jack Grealish and Phil Foden were hitting some serious top bins during their efforts, but the £100 million star liked what he saw from Wilson.

The ball was fired in at Wilson’s weaker left foot with serious venom, he took an outstanding first touch to keep the ball outside of the penalty area, which drew ‘what a touch’ response from Grealish, before his toe-poked shot was saved by Nick Pope in goal.

WILSON TO START AGAINST WALES?

It has to be questioned why Wilson didn’t earn any minutes during the goalless draw against the USA, especially given that Gareth Southgate’s side were chasing that goal and bite in their attacking play.

Only days before, Wilson, on his World Cup debut, came off the bench and made a brilliant darting run down the right channel to assist none other than Grealish for one of England’s six goals.

Either way, with England’s near-on in the knockout stages, surely it’s time for Southgate to start Wilson against Wales tonight instead of captain, Harry Kane.
