Well, it looks very much like Leeds United are signing Junior Firpo.
The Athletic reported on Sunday afternoon that the Barcelona left-back had landed in England for a medical with the Elland Road club.
Jack Harrison making his move to Leeds permanent on Saturday represented the Whites’ first signing of the window, technically.
But Harrison has been in West Yorkshire since 2018 and this, the signing of a player from Barcelona, would be United’s first real addition.
It’s an exciting update for fans of the Elland Road side and here’s how they’re reacting on Twitter:
Bye Alioski
This is the final nail in Ezgjan Alioski’s Leeds career, it would seem.
Leeds have offered the Macedonia international a new deal, with him technically being a free agent right now after being released.
But with Firpo coming in, Alioski’s playing time would be severely reduced in the Premier League next season and therefore it makes sense for the 29-year-old to look elsewhere.
