Jamie Murphy impressed on his debut for Rangers at Ibrox.

Jamie Murphy made a triumphant debut for Rangers last night as they defeated Aberdeen at Ibrox.
Murphy has joined the Gers on loan from Brighton and was one of three new signings to start, as Rangers won the game 2-0.
Rangers supporter and Swansea City striker Oli McBurnie was watching on, and was highly impressed with Murphy’s contribution.
He commented during the match, in which Murphy played all 90 minutes.
Rangers needed the win to kick off the second half of their season and start looking upwards towards league leaders Celtic.
They came into the game in third place and 14 points behind their rivals, now they have overtaken Aberdeen and are into second place, 11 behind Celtic.

It is still a highly difficult task to haul in Brendan Rodgers’ side, but had they lost to Aberdeen their chances would have been over already.
The additions of Murphy, Russell Martin, Sean Goss and Jason Cummings signal a fresh start, and it has begun in the best possible way.
Signing as many of them on permanent deals in the summer must already be a priority.
