Newcastle United and Everton are keen to bolster their forward line ahead of the new Premier League season.

And it seems as though the duo could be fishing in the same market, with Emmanuel Dennis, who was relegated with Watford this season, a target for both sides.

Back in February, Michael Owen praised the Nigeria forward and claimed ‘what a signing he’s been in the Premier League’, as quoted by Goal.

Even though Dennis played for a pretty helpless Watford side, who only won twice in 2022, he still managed ten Premier League goals and six assists.

That’s some going for the 24-year-old and it’s why Owen was left so impressed by the versatile forward.

“Emmanuel [Dennis], what a player,” said Owen. “What a signing he’s been in the Premier League this season, great finish again from him.”

DENNIS WOULD BE A SMART PURCHASE

During the second half of the 2021/22 Premier League season, Dennis’ form did tail off, but it’s no surprise given how woeful the Hornets were.

But when he was at his best, the seven-cap international showcased great composure and decision-making in front of goal.

In the heat of the battle in the Premier League, to be able to have that calmness in the final third is something not many players have in their locker.

But, in a much better team, someone like Dennis would thrive even further, so there is no reason why either Everton or Newcastle shouldn’t push for him this summer.

The Magpies have all the money in the world, so they shouldn’t have much of a problem putting the money on the table, but with Watford now in the Championship, there is only so much rope they can pull.

But, for Everton, if they lose their star players in the final third this summer, especially Richarlison, then they are in trouble and need replacements.
