Jose Enrique has posted on his Instagram story ‘what a signing’ Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka would be for Liverpool and how he can play alongside Mo Salah.
The former left-back was reacting to the suggestions that Liverpool could ‘pounce’ for the right-sided forward if contract negotiations with Arsenal take a turn for the worse.
Saka’s current deal at the Emirates is due to expire in 2024, and being one of the top youngsters in world football, those in north London will want him tied up because he has a lot of eyes on him.
One of those admiring clubs includes Premier League title-chasing, Liverpool, who, alongside Manchester City, are watching the 20-year-old’s development very closely, as reported by ESPN.
Nonetheless, Enrique was relaying the suggestion that his former club could ‘pounce’ for the England international if he doesn’t sign a new deal and he issued this response regarding that possibility.
“For me, what a signing he will be for us,” said Enrique. “Someone that we need to play in that right-wing with Salah.”

There aren’t many young guns in the Premier League that are at the top of their game like Arsenal’s Hale-End product.
Saka, after heartache at Euro 2020, has taken his game to another level since missing that all-important penalty for his country against Italy.
This season, the boyhood Arsenal fan has scored nine Premier League goals and supplied five assists from his 28 matches.
All in all, Saka will be hoping that his on-pitch contributions can help Mikel Arteta’s side return to the Champions League because they have the upper hand on their rivals.
And, in truth, a player of Saka’s talent is too good not to be playing on one of the biggest stages of them all, when it comes to European football.
