Eberechi Eze has taken a huge step forward in his recovery from injury as the winger played for Crystal Palace’s U-23 side this weekend.
The attacker posted an image on his official Twitter account of him playing in the fixture. Eze played over an hour for Palace in what was his first bit of football since suffering a serious Achilles injury in the final week of last season.
Despite the nature of the injury, Eze is way ahead of schedule to return to the Palace first-team. The £20m signing from QPR last year was one of the south London side’s best players last campaign.
The midfielder was a joy to watch for the Eagles. And under Patrick Vieira and alongside new players such as Odsonne Edouard and Michael Olise, Eze could become a force in his comeback from injury.
Indeed, Palace have made a good start to the season since the arrival of the Premier League legend as their coach. The Eagles beat Manchester City over the weekend and have also claimed impressive results against Tottenham and Arsenal.
And with Eze now returning to the mix, Palace will again have a young, dynamic talent to call upon in what has been a fun season for the south London side.
