Leeds United’s Luke Ayling and Gedion Zelalem have reacted on Jack Wilshere’s Instagram post, after he returned to Arsenal training on Thursday for the first time since leaving the club in 2018.

Wilshere is currently a free-agent and Arsenal have offered him a chance to boost his fitness as he searches for a new club.

Whilst Ayling is now bossing it in Leeds colours, he would have seen Wilshere come through the ranks when he was at the Emirates Stadium, alongside Zelalem, who is now plying his trade in the MLS.

The duo didn’t make that step-up to the first-team, but Wilshere did and was seen as one of England’s brightest prospects.

But despite becoming an England international and a key man for Arsenal at such a young age, it has gone pretty wrong for the 29-year-old in recent years.

And now he will be hoping to find that spark again and where best to go then the place where it all started.

When Wilshere posted on Instagram that he is grateful of Arsenal providing him with this chance, several players commented on his return.

West Ham’s Declan Rice, who played with him at the London Stadium, wrote: “Love that brother.”

Whilst Ayling added: “Love to see it mate.”. Gedion Zelalem also wrote: “What a sight.”

It seems as though Wilshere will only train at Arsenal and help the club’s younger players.

But it will be interesting to see how the club react if he sparks in training and gets his fitness and sharpness to a top level.

At the end of the day, Mikel Arteta is a midfielder short after the long-term injury to Granit Xhaka.

Whilst it’s unlikely that they will sign him up, you just never know what might happen.
