Arsenal fans have reacted on Twitter to Martin Odegaard’s Instagram post about Norway failing to reach the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The 22-year-old posted that it’s ‘painful’ that he and his country won’t be heading to the biggest stage in world football next year.
“It’s hard to put into words how painful it is to miss another World Cup,” said Odegaard. “We gave our all, but were not good enough to change the margins with us in certain battles.”
Arsenal fans are feeling sorry for their player and they praised him for showing a strong mentality.
The recent injury to Erling Haaland didn’t help matters for the Norweigan’s, who were beaten 2-0 by Holland that ended their hopes.
Odegaard isn’t the only Arsenal player that won’t be heading to the 2022 World Cup because Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Nicolas Pepe are in the same boat.
For someone like Odegaard, he has years left in the tank to one day reach that golden road.
But perhaps not for someone like Aubameyang, which is a crying shame because it is the pinnacle of football.
What is Norway’s loss is Arsenal’s gain because their supporters will now be hoping he unleashes all his pain on their stage.
During these recent weeks, Odegaard’s form has dipped slightly and he does need to get back on that in-form road.
