West Brom promotion winner Callum Robinson was one of a number of current players who responded to John McGinn’s Instagram message as the Aston Villa man was celebrating two years at the club.
Robinson, who came through Villa’s academy as a youngster, messaged McGinn by saying, ‘what a guy and what a player’.
On August 8th 2018, Aston Villa signed a then-unknown figure in McGinn from Scottish Premiership side Hibernian.
The rest is history because he has turned out to be one of the best purchases Villa have made in recent history – he scored the crucial goal which helped the Midlands giants earn promotion to the Premier League in 2019.
Added with Robinson, this is how other players responded to McGinn’s Instagram message – Jack Grealish stated: ‘My brother man’ added with a heart emoji.
Whilst Henri Lansbury labelled him as ‘The Scottish Gattuso’. Sheffield United’s Ollie McBurnie also responded by saying, ‘Like a fine wine’.
Sheffield United forward, Robinson, will come up against his former club in the Premier League next season after helping the Baggies to automatic promotion from the Championship.
There will be a number of tasty Midland clashes in England’s top-flight next term because West Brom will also be facing their bitter rivals Wolves.
Added with that, Villa will come up against both Wolves and Albion, as it remains to be seen whether Robinson will return to the Hawthorns after his loan spell last term.
