Valencia midfielder Yunus Musah and Ipswich defender Leif Davis praised Sam Greenwood on Instagram for his stunning performance during Leeds United’s 4-3 win over Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday.
Five minutes into the second half, Leeds were 3-1 down and that historic win at Anfield the week before seemed a very, very long away for Jesse Marsch and his players.
But you showcase your true self when the chips are down and Leeds did just that despite staring at a possible defeat against the Cherries.

Greenwood didn’t start the game at Elland Road, instead, he was one of a number of players who made an impact and impressed from the bench.
It was the 20-year-old’s brilliant first-time curling effort that pulled a goal back for the Whites, before he assisted Liam Cooper for the equaliser, as Wilfried Gnonto and, the man of the moment, Crysencio Summerville, combined for the winner.
Nonetheless, Greenwood stated on Instagram ‘words can’t describe how I feel right now scoring my first goal in the Premier League’, as ex-Leeds man Leif Davis posted in the comments section “what a player’” and Valencia and USA star, Yunus Musah, added, “What a way to do it.”
LEEDS YOUNGSTERS SHINING
It has been a tough few weeks for Leeds, and especially Jesse Marsch, who was probably heading into this upcoming break fearing for his job.
Now, whilst Leeds don’t want it to happen, he can afford to lose his next two games – League Cup and the Premier League – and know that his job will be safe post-2022 World Cup.
A lot of that is due to the youngsters sticking their chest out, showcasing their fearless nature and making their impact.
Greenwood’s goal was one Raphinha would have been proud of when he was dazzling the Yorkshire faithful last season, whilst Summerville has been the one taking the main limelight, with his two match-winning strikes in recent weeks.
