Luis Diaz has made quite the impression during his first few months in Liverpool colours and he proved why during his short time on the pitch in the Merseyside derby on Sunday.

On the hour mark, Jurgen Klopp brought on the Colombian star against Everton, and within minutes, he had John Terry applauding him on Twitter.

As the ball was played out wide to the 25-year-old, Diaz controlled the ball with his backheel in a remarkable way, which left ex-Chelsea man, Terry, posting on social media, ‘what a player this man is’.

It’s quite remarkable how easy Diaz makes the game look and the impact he has had on this quadruple-chasing team.

The gulf in quality between Liverpool and Everton is pretty obvious, but Jurgen Klopp’s players ground out a valuable three points against their neighbours.

It was interesting to see Klopp make only two changes from his side’s thumping win against Manchester United in midweek, with Diaz one of the players rested to the bench.

The Reds have the first leg of their semi-final Champions League showdown with Villarreal to come on Tuesday night, so perhaps he returns to the XI for that game.

Either way, not only was Diaz impressing with his quite ridiculous skill in the Merseyside derby.

But, it was his acrobatic kick that led to Divock Origi scoring Liverpool’s second goal today and yet another headed goal for the Belgian in this fixture.

Nonetheless, the gap between Liverpool and leaders Manchester City has returned to one point, as this pulsating title race goes up another notch.
