Leeds United youngster Leif Davis has responded to his teammate Kalvin Phillips’s post on Instagram.
Phillips has taken to Instagram to express his delight at helping England win against Belgium at Wembley Stadium on Sunday evening.
The Three Lions got the better of Belgium 2-1 in UEFA Nations League Group A2.
Leeds midfielder Phillips did not start the match for the Three Lions, but the 24-year-old came on as a substitute in the 66th minute.
Davis, who can operate as a left-back or as a centre-back, was impressed with the display produced by Phillips, and has praised him on Instagram.
Davis responded: “What a player”.
Going strong
Phillips was one of the best midfielders in the Championship for the past two seasons, and his performances for Leeds in the Premier League so far this campaign have been very good.
The 24-year-old has now earned three caps for England, and his displays for Gareth Southgate’s side have been encouraging.
According to WhoScored, Phillips had a pass accuracy of 83.3%, won one header, took 13 touches, and made one clearance.
Meanwhile, The Sun on Sunday (print edition, page 61, October 11, 2020) has reported that Charlton Athletic are interested in signing Robbie Gotts on loan from Leeds before the transfer window closes on Friday.
