There’s never a dull moment in regards to Liverpool transfer stories.
This week, it’s been reported that long-time Reds target Timo Werner is set to join a Premier League rival in the form of Chelsea.
Liverpool, according to Goal.com, haven’t been able to afford the £52 million that it would take to trigger the 24-year-old’s release clause at Leipzig.
After that, the good old rumours regarding Jadon Sancho fired up again, as The Independent claimed that Jurgen Klopp had spoken to the Borussia Dortmund winger who seemingly wants the move.
You could understand if fans of the Anfield club are getting a bit fed up with the rumour mill, but at least it has churned out a new name now.
According to Il Messagero in Italy, Liverpool are interested in £44 million-rated Fiorentina midfielder Gaetano Castrovilli.
The 23-year-old has been an ever-present figure for the Serie A club this season, but here’s how Reds fans reacted to the speculation about bringing him to Merseyside.
To be fair, many more Liverpool fans did question why or how the club would spend £44 million on Castrovilli if they couldn’t afford £52 million for Werner, and it’s a valid point.
Although the Castrovilli rumours aren’t as tedious yet, they’re just as nonsencial as many other pieces of speculation floating around about the reigning European champions’ transfer list.
