Clinton Morrison thinks Liverpool transfer target Enzo Fernandez is now headed to the Premier League after his heroics for Argentina at the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

The 21-year-old started the tournament on the bench, but he ended it by picking up the Young Player of the Tournament, alongside his World Cup winners medal.

The Benfica midfielder has put in performances of high, high quality, but most importantly, he has showcased a level-headed nature in such a difficult and pressure-cooker environment.

That’s why the all-action midfielder is the subject of interest from Premier League clubs, including Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool keen to take him on board.

And former Crystal Palace striker certainly feels the next step of his career will be joining a team in the Premier League, as he told the Football Show on Sky Sports.

“I like Fernandez, what a player,” said Morrison. “He could be in the Premier League soon. A holding midfielder at such a young age and a young player of the tournament. Outstanding.”

WHO SHOULD LIVERPOOL SIGN?

From World Cup winner Enzo Fernandez to England’s next big thing Jude Bellingham, a host of names have been targetted by Liverpool.

If you probably asked the Liverpool supporter, many would probably agree that Bellingham is the one they crave the most.

But even if Dortmund are a selling club, it’s going to be pretty difficult to sign him in January because the Reds need players to come in now with their top-four spot in danger.
