Santi Cazorla and Declan Rice lauded Jack Wilshere as a ‘top player’ on Instagram after he helped West Ham beat Hull City 5-1 in the League Cup last night.
During his time at Arsenal, Cazorla would have witnessed at first hand the talents Wilshere had in his boots. But injuries have hit him hard over the years.
And whilst he has been fit and firing ever since David Moyes was appointed West Ham boss, he just hasn’t been able to earn the game time.
But he earned some much-needed minutes yesterday and he will be hoping that helps him break into Moyes’ starting XI.
This is what Cazorla wrote underneath Wilshere’s Instagram message: “Top player. Super Jack.”.
Rice also commented by saying: “What a player.”.
It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Wilshere because he has been injury-free for some while now and hasn’t been on the pitch enough to prove that he’s ready.
Leaving West Ham might be the best option for the Arsenal academy product and if it means dropping down a division then he might have to bite the bullet.
Equally, the Hammers aren’t exactly pulling up trees this season and he may find that someone else’s bad form could open the first-team door for him.
