Marquinhos has praised Arsenal attacking midfielder Martin Odegaard on Instagram for his performance against Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United at St. James’ Park in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
Odegaard was superb for Arsenal in their 2-0 win against Newcastle yesterday.
The 24-year-old Norway international attacking midfielder scored the opening goal of the match for the North London club.
The playmaker took three shots, played two key passes, had a pass accuracy of 75.9%, took 43 touches, attempted one dribble, made one tackle and one clearance, and put in two crosses.
The £85,000-a-week (The Mirror) has scored 15 goals and given seven assists in 34 Premier League matches for the Gunners this season.
The win for Arsenal has maintained the pressure on defending champions Manchester City for the Premier League title this season.
While City are still the favourites for the title, Arsenal are now likely to push them until the final day of the season.
And Odegaard will continue to play his role for Mikel Arteta’s side.
Marquinhos joined Arsenal in the summer of 2022 and is on loan at Norwich City in the Championship at the moment.
