Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney has lauded Jack Wilshere as his ‘hero’ on his Instagram story.

It has been well-documented for some while now that Wilshere is training with Arsenal as a free agent and as he tries to find a new club.

When Wilshere praised Tierney as a ‘proper player’ on his Instagram, the Scotsman responded with this brilliant message:

“What a player. Pleasure training with you ma man. Hero.”

With Arsenal making a complete mess of it in January, it could be argued that they need to probably get Wilshere signed up to a contract.

Mikel Arteta’s side were knocked out of the FA Cup and the League Cup, as well as dropping valuable points in the Premier League.

Not only that, both Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey got themselves sent off against Liverpool in a costly fashion and when they were already thin in the midfield department.

And to then add that altogether, a host of players left, yet not a single new face walked through the club’s doors.

Whilst, for the on-field results, Arteta has to take the blame, the issues off the pitch are the blame of those in the boardroom.

It was clear that another striker was needed well before Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang left, yet now he is gone, only two senior strikers remain for that spot.

And between them, both Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah, have scored three Premier League goals – all via the foot of the Frenchman.

That’s great preparation for the second half of the campaign and Arsenal’s quest to finish in the Champions League places.
