John Terry has passed Manchester City’s Phil Foden on Instagram Live.

Foden has really broken through at City this season, as he has gone from a promising youngster to a first-team regular.

The attacking midfielder is currently one of the first names of the team sheet for Pep Guardiola’s side, who are leading the way in the Premier League.

And Terry has been very impressed with the way Foden has handled the step into City’s first team.

“What a player,” he said. “When you talk about him and Jack [Grealish], they are the two best young players in probably the world for me at the moment.

“We are lucky that they are both English. 20-years-old, producing some unbelievable bits of quality, skill and goals in a top side.

“Firstly to break through at a top side that young is unbelievable. But to see him perform the way he’s performing is great to watch actually.”

Guardiola has previously been criticised for not allowing Foden the chance to flourish, but he seems to have managed his progression perfectly.

Foden is now being given the opportunity to shine and he has very much taken it.

The youngster has scored five Premier League goals and claimed three assists so far this season, with his recent performances really catching the eye.

Foden and City will next be in action on Saturday, when they take on Tottenham Hotspur.
