Many supporters, up and down the land, will be hoping that theme continues in their games this season, but the likelihood is that it won’t.
Nonetheless, yesterday’s defeat will have hit David Moyes and West Ham fans hard because it was a great chance for them to win a trophy.
But they were without their main man, Michail Antonio, who was a clear miss and energy battery in that final third for the Hammers.
