Some Tottenham fans on social media have been waxing lyrical about Tanguy Ndombele in the wake of their 1-1 draw with Fulham on Wednesday night.
The north London outfit were left frustrated by Fulham as a string of great saves by Alphonse Areola denied them a comfortable lead heading into half-time, while a second-half onslaught from the Whites caused Spurs to drop two points here.
However, despite Tottenham struggling for periods of this game, one player the fanbase were seemingly very happy with was Ndombele, and we can understand why.
The Frenchman put on a masterclass in attacking midfield, creating a number of good chances for his Tottenham teammates, but with Fulham and their goalkeeper standing firm, his efforts were largely in vein.
On another day, Ndombele would have come away with an assist or two, but a number of fantastic pieces of last-ditch defending and an incredible goalkeeping performance left his stats sheet bare.
However, the game isn’t all about stats and numbers, and Spurs fans recognised that even though he didn’t contribute to any goals, he was doing the right thing and playing very well.
Spurs will have to go away and have a think about their recent league form after dropping more points from a winning position, but one player who should just try to continue what they’ve been doing is Ndombele.
