Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Oliver Skipp enjoyed a winning start to his loan spell on Saturday.
The 19-year-old impressed on his competitive debut for Norwich City as the Canaries won 1-0 away to Huddersfield Town.
Skipp, who has 15 Premier League games for Tottenham under his belt, boasted a 90.9 percent passing accuracy – the highest of any player named in either first XI [WhoScored] – and won six fouls for City.
The teenager was clearly a driving force in the visitors’ midfield and suffice to say that some Norwich fans are absolutely raving about him.
Here’s how they’re reacting to his debut on Twitter:
Going out on loan was definitely the smart move by Skipp.
Yes, he has a bit of experience in the Premier League with Tottenham, but he would’ve spent most of this season with the Under-23s had he not left.
With Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg coming in, and Moussa Sissoko fit again, there’s just no room for the teen prodigy under Jose Mourinho – well, in the short term.
In the long term, Skipp remains one hell of a prospect and a solid year-long spell in the Championship could help him return to North London a much better, more rounded midfielder next summer.
