Peter Crouch has stated that Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli could be a ‘game-changer’ for Brazil at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, as he told LADbible TV – and he might well take inspiration from club teammate Bukayo Saka who netted a brace for England against Iran on Monday.
The 21-year-old was one of the big talking points when Brazil boss Tite finalised his squad for football’s biggest stage.
During Brazil’s previous international outing, Martinelli wasn’t selected, but his performances for the Premier League table-toppers was just too hard for Tite to ignore.

Given the players in front of him, most importantly Real Madrid’s ever-progressing star Vinicius Jr, then Martinelli will be expected to play a back-up role for large parts of the World Cup.
But when he is handed that chance to shine, former England International Crouch backed him to make a difference and possibly change the tide of the game.
“What a player to bring on though,” said Crouch. “If you are tired, then bring on Martinelli. That could be a game-changer.”

MARTINELLI’S RISE
From the lower leagues of Brazil to England’s top-tier where he is showcasing his talent on probably the best footballing stage on the domestic circuit.
It has been quite the rise from Martinelli and a huge credit to those at Arsenal for helping him progress his game to such heights.
The great thing is that this is only the start, and alongside this title-chasing Arsenal side, he could become one of Europe’s best if he continues his current surge.
