Cristian Romero has bigged up his Tottenham Hotspur teammate Emerson Royal on his Instagram story by posting ‘what a player’.
This comes after Emerson Royal first told Tottenham’s hard-hitting centre-back on his own IG story that ‘it’s a pleasure to play with you’.
The mood in the Tottenham camp is certainly upbeat, and why shouldn’t it be? The improvements Antonio Conte has made during such a short period of time is remarkable.
Tottenham were at risk of dropping out of Europe altogether last season, but as soon as Conte replaced Nuno Espirito Santo in the dugout, any worries were quickly dashed out of the window.
Not only have they returned to the Champions League, but there are some that are even backing them to challenge both Manchester City and Liverpool this season.
Even if they can’t sustain it throughout the campaign, the fact that it’s being spoken about and discussed speaks volumes, as a number of players have shown huge improvements.
EMERSON ROYAL’S IMPROVEMENT
One of the most improved players in the Tottenham team has been Emerson Royal, who started and assisted during his side’s 4-1 win over Southampton at the weekend.
Things didn’t start as the 23-year-old would have liked in north London and there was a sense of struggle during the first half of the last campaign.
But as soon as he was able to get his engine going under Conte, then he started to motor and showcase his best form to the fans.
And now with Conte able to pick the Brazil star, Matt Doherty and Djed Spence at right wing-back, he has a number of healthy options to push with going forward.
