Conor Coady has claimed that Liverpool transfer target Jude Bellingham will win the Ballon d’Or in the future, as he told Football Focus.

The Everton defender was at first agreeing with teammate James Tarkowski that Erling Haaland will win the Ballon d’Or in 2023, but he gave a mention to his England teammate and what he could achieve in years to come.

On the international stage, Coady would have seen first-hand just what the fuss is all about the 19-year-old midfielder.

When in Borussia Dortmund colours, Bellingham is just going from strength to strength and he continues to wow those who watch him week in and week out.

From his 17 matches in all competitions this season, he has scored an impressive eight goals, including four from four in the Champions League.

Those are very impressive numbers for a player that isn’t even out of his teenage years, as he was bigged up by his England teammate.

“Do you know who I think in years to come might have a chance of winning it (the Ballon d’Or) is Bellingham,” said Coady. “What a player!”

BELLINGHAM AND LIVERPOOL

Amid Liverpool’s gloom, fans probably just get more annoyed that they didn’t break the bank for Bellingham during the recently concluded summer transfer market.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have been crying out for a player of his ilk, even though their manager denied it at first, he changed his mind a week before the window slammed shut and had to settle for a loan deal of Arthur Melo from Juventus.

The issue the Reds have now is that they are showing signs that they might not even finish in the Champions League places, and if they miss out on that at the end of the season, then they can say goodbye to signing a player like Bellingham.

For Bellingham, things could become better for the £120 million-rated player if he shines at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, with Fabrizio Romano backing the Liverpool target to become the ‘most expensive midfielder ever’.
