Alexis Mac Allister praised Curtis Jones on his Instagram story after he helped Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool brush aside West Ham United on Sunday at Anfield.

Both Alexis Mac Allister and Curtis Jones started in the middle of the park, with the World Cup-winning star producing the game-changing moment when his pin-point assist found Darwin Nunez after the hour mark.

That put Liverpool back into the lead, and from then on, they maintained their status, with substitute Diogo Jota coming off the bench and scoring within four minutes to put the cherry on top of the cake.

With Arsenal and Tottenham sharing the spoils in the north London derby, it means that Liverpool move into second place in the Premier League table.

The Reds were the last team to stop Pep Guardiola’s dominant trophy-winning machine, and with Manchester City chasing a fourth title in a row, if anyone is going to stop them again, then it’s Liverpool or Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.

Either way, after Liverpool beat West Ham, both Alexis Mac Allister and Curtis Jones exchanged messages via their Instagram story.

Curtis Jones wrote ‘The Magician’, as he posted a picture of himself celebrating with the former Brighton man.

Whilst Alexis Mac Allister responded with three words: ‘What a player’.

Title race for Liverpool?

After falling off a cliff last season and missing out on Champions League football altogether, it’s understandable if some fans thought that a title race wasn’t going to be on the cards this term.

But, not only do Liverpool have points on the board, but it’s the manner in which they are winning games, which is echoes of their past title-winning days.

Some might point towards a lack of depth as to a reason why they won’t be able to challenge, but one thing is for sure, the attack and goals are there to blow any team away.
