There’s no better player or individual for Jacob Ramsey to look up to at Aston Villa than Jack Grealish.
And with the expert ball-carrier having to watch Villa’s win at Elland Road from home on Saturday, another academy star was showcasing his talents yesterday.
Dean Smith handed Ramsey his second Premier League start against Leeds and the quick-footed teenager impressed once again.
After Villa secured three points in Yorkshire, Ramsey reacted on Instagram to that win, with a number of Villa players praising him for his efforts.
Grealish wrote in the comments section: ‘What a performance my brother’. Whilst Matt Targett added: ‘Brilliant mate’.
Ezri Konsa simply wrote ‘Player’, whilst ex-striker Gabby Agbonlahor added: ‘Well done’.
Ever since Smith walked through the doors of Bodymoor Heath, Ramsey has caught his eye because he’s been training with the first team for a number of years now and was handed his debut in the Championship against West Brom as a 17-year-old.
Grealish’s rise is proof that there is serious quality in Villa’s academy and Ramsey is a player worth looking out for in the near future.
In his two Premier League starts for Villa – Wolves and Leeds – he has looked outstanding during both outings and produced, at the very least 8/10 performances.
It could also be argued now that he should be playing ahead of a certain Ross Barkley, who was dropped for yesterday’s clash.
