Rangers striker Kemar Roofe has posted a message on Instagram after making his debut for Steven Gerrard’s side at Ibrox, and Everton winger Yannick Bolasie and Andy Lonergan have responded to it.
Roofe joined Rangers from Belgian club Anderlecht in the summer transfer window for a fee reported by The Scottish Sun to be worth £3.5 million.
The former Leeds United striker made his competitive debut for the Gers on Wednesday evening, as he came on as a substitute in the 61st minute in the home team’s 3-0 win against St. Johnstone in the Scottish Premiership.
The 27-year-old, who can also operate as a winger, has expressed his delight on Instagram at making his debut for Rangers, but he has admitted that his performance could have been better.
Everton winger Bolasie has responded to Roofe’s post on Instagram, and so has former Liverpool goalkeeper Lonergan, who is a free agent at the moment after his exit from the Reds this summer.
According to WhoScored, Roofe took one shot which was on target, played one key pass, had a pass accuracy of 64.3%, took 26 touches, attempted one dribble, and made two tackles.
Bolasie responded: “Big up bro”
Lonergan responded: “What a move the roofaliser. Made up for u mate”
