Celtic leapfrogged Rangers in the Scottish Premiership table on Saturday.

Neil Lennon’s side edged out Livingston 3-2 at Parkhead yesterday to move above the Ibrox outfit on goals scored.

Both Celtic and Rangers have won 19 points from a possible 21 so far this season, though the Hoops have scored five more goals than Steven Gerrard’s side.

The Gers are away to Hibernian tomorrow and even a point will be enough to take them back to the summit, though their Old Firm rivals will have a game in hand.

Here’s what Trevor Sinclair posted on Twitter last night after the Celtic victory:

If you’re a Celtic fan, you want to gallop away from the light Blues as soon as possible.

The Bhoys are going for 10 Premiership titles in a row but, from a neutral’s perspective, it makes for a more exciting title race if Rangers are a bit more competitive.

Gerrard’s troops have stayed with Celtic for at least half the campaign on each of the last two seasons, before Celtic get a second wind in January and usually establish a big gap from there on in.

If both sides are similarly matched come the start of 2021, Gerrard will demand no let-up from his troops as they bid to stop their rivals’ quest for history.
