Hull City midfielder Greg Docherty has told Karl Darlow to ‘go well’ at Leeds United following his transfer from Newcastle United.

The 32-year-old signed a three-year deal at Leeds United and he has become Daniel Farke’s second signing of the summer after the capture of Ethan Ampadu from Chelsea.

Last season, Karl Darlow was on-loan at Hull City, where he played alongside Greg Docherty, but now he has secured a permanent transfer away from Newcastle United.

When Darlow expressed his delight for signing for Leeds on Instagram, he was praised by his teammates in the comments section of his post.

Docherty wrote: ‘What a guy. Go well, mate.”

And now the experienced English goalkeeper is now tasked with helping Leeds earn promotion back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

“Very proud to call @leedsunited my new home,” said Darlow. “I’m ready for a new challenge & looking forward to getting going. Big season ahead to get this club back to where it belongs.”

Can Darlow be a safe pair of hands for Leeds?

For a number of years now, it could be argued that Leeds’ goalkeeping department has been a big issue, with Illan Meslier making a number of errors last season.

At first, Darlow needs to bring trust to the club’s backline, regardless of what happens in front of him, because that area of the pitch has worried fans for a while now.

If he can do that, then it will go a long way in helping those in front of him settle down and allow Leeds to bring that bite and consistency back to their defence.
