Ben Foster has taken to Twitter after seeing what Joelinton did for a supporter as Newcastle prepare for the Carabao Cup final.
What’s the story?
Well, one lucky fan – who goes by @draylbret_t on Twitter – was fortunate enough to be given a pair of tickets by the £40m Newcastle man, who left them at the club’s Darsley Park training ground for him to collect.
@Draylbret_t wrote: “Well the big man has well and truly delivered, literally zero reason for him to help me out but he’s absolutely made me Nan and Granda’s year, let’s win this.”
In response to that post, Foster tweeted: “Joe from Linton!!!! What a guy.”
You can see the 39-year-old’s tweet below.
A number of supporters have been left disappointed after Newcastle’s 32,761 allocation sold out rapidly, leaving many fans with no chance of buying a ticket for the showpiece event at Wembley.
Therefore, Joelinton has done this particular fan – and his grandparents – a massive favour as Newcastle aim to defeat Manchester United in the Carabao Cup final.
Joelinton could have been playing with Ben Foster at Newcastle
Interestingly, Joelinton and Foster could have been teammates at St James’ Park.
The Englishman told talkSPORT that he considered an offer from Eddie Howe earlier in the season after Karl Darlow suffered an injury, but ultimately decided to remain living with his family and producing media content instead.
Foster said: “Just a bit of context behind that, a bit earlier in the season I could’ve signed for Newcastle when Karl Darlow got a little injury.
“I was very close to doing it as well, I ummed and ahhed about it and eventually sort of decided I’d hung up my gloves and I’d done it for a reason and I was happy with that reason.”

The experienced glovesman would have been in between the sticks at Wembley this Sunday had he accepted that offer, as Nick Pope is suspended and Martin Dubravka is cup-tied.
Nevertheless, it seems as if Loris Karius will be making his Newcastle debut in the most incredible of circumstances this Sunday, unless Howe opts for Mark Gillespie instead.
