Gary Lineker stated on Match of the Day ‘what a footballer’ Luis Diaz is looking like for Liverpool following their 3-2 FA Cup semi-final win over Manchester City on Saturday at Wembley.

Liverpool’s new flyer was brought into the club prematurely in January from Porto, after other parties showed interest in his quick-footed talents.

From the moment the Colombian superstar stepped foot into English football, he has felt like he belongs.

Even during a pressure cooker of a semi-final, Diaz was dancing his way past players and manipulating the ball without fear and pure brilliance.

This is what Lineker had to say about Diaz during Liverpool’s FA Cup semi-final win yesterday.

“We picked out Luis Diaz, didn’t we, before the game,” said Lineker. “The way he has started.

“I mean, goodness me, what a footballer he looks to be.”

One of the main reasons Liverpool fans are dreaming of possible multiple trophies this season is because of the depth in their squad.

In midweek, Jurgen Klopp was able to rest some of his big hitters, which in comparison to Man City, proved to work wonders for the Merseyside club.

Come Tuesday night, when Manchester United visit town, it wouldn’t be a surprise if only a few changes are made.

But, either way, Klopp now has the luxury of calling upon the club’s second-highest goalscorer this season, Diogo Jota, who only came on for the last five minutes at Wembley.
