Sunderland beat Norwich City 3-1 at Carrow Road this afternoon.
Sunderland picked up their first league win under new manager Simon Grayson with an impressive 3-1 victory away at Norwich City on Sunday afternoon.
The Black Cats opened their league campaign with a 1-1 home draw with Derby County, before defeating Bury 1-0 in the Carabao Cup on Thursday night.

Grayson and co faced a tough trip to Norwich on Sunday, but they took the lead in the first half when James Vaughan and Lewis Grabban – two former Norwich strikers – linked up, with the latter slotting home the opening goal.
Aiden McGeady grabbed his first goal for Sunderland with a fine left footed strike from the edge of the box, before the Irishman turned provider, conjuring up superb skill and an inch-perfect cross for Grabban to head home his second and Sunderland’s third.
Grabban did score an own goal to bring Norwich a consolation, but Sunderland held out for all three points in an impressive 3-1 victory, with Grayson no doubt hoping to use the win as a springboard ahead of Wednesday’s trip to face Sheffield Wednesday.
After the final whistle at Carrow Road, ex-Sunderland players Marco Gabbiadini and Micky Gray both took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the win and performance, with both men delighted.

Gabbiadini noted that it’s a huge difference from this time a year ago, and whilst Sunderland are in the second tier now, Grayson has made a solid start to life at the Stadium of Light after such a dour season last term.
Gray added that it was a ‘great win’ for Sunderland and congratulated Grayson on his first league win as Sunderland boss since leaving Preston to take charge of the Black Cats back in June.
