Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to react after footage emerged of Takehiro Tomiyasu dealing with Cristiano Ronaldo in Italy.
What’s the story?
Well, Arsenal wrapped up a £16m deal for the Japan international late on deadline day, in what seems to be a very smart move.
Mikel Arteta now has a reliable right-back, who looks very competent based on footage of him playing for Bologna in Serie A.
One clip shows none other than five-time Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldo running at Tomiyasu down the left wing.
With ease, the 22-year-old dispossesses the Manchester United forward, before shielding the ball and playing out from the back.
Of course, it’s hard to judge a player from one six-second clip, although it’s encouraging to see Tomiyasu deal with an all-time great so easily.
If he does it again when Arsenal take on Manchester United this season, he’ll surely get a big reaction from the supporters inside the stadium.
Arsenal have a gem in Takehiro Tomiyasu

For just £16m, Arsenal have done very well to land Tomiyasu.
He’s still only 22, so it’s a signing who can impact the present as well as the future.
Additionally, Tomiyasu is capable of playing at centre-back as well as right-back, which allows Arteta some flexibility at the back.
Make no mistake about it, Edu has overseen some woeful moves since becoming Arsenal’s Sporting Director.

However, this is not one of them – we can’t find too many negatives about this deal, if any.
Hopefully, the youngster settles quickly in north London, and can help solidify what is a very porous backline at the Emirates Stadium.
For now, let’s see what the Arsenal fans on Twitter have been saying about the footage of Tomiyasu and Ronaldo…
