West Ham United have had some excellent strips since the start of the Premier League era, but which one is the best?

Here is HITC Sport’s countdown of arguably the five best strips that West Ham United have worn since 1992…

5. Away 2015-16

From a season which saw the kits commemorate the club’s final season at the Boleyn Ground, it is the away kit that makes the countdown. The claret and blue design stood out due to the addition of claret pin strips in the top third of the shirt. It was the strip that was worn by Slaven Bilic’s side when they beat the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool on their own grounds.

4. Home 1999-2001

It was in the years before the turn of Millennium that the Irons were playing arguably some of their most exciting football, so it is hardly surprising if the kits they wore during that time are remembered fondly. Perhaps the two most memorable moments that came while wearing this kit both involved Paolo Di Canio. One involved Di Canio catching the ball with his hands and stopping the game rather than scoring against Everton when the Toffees goalkeeper was injured, and the other saw arguably the greatest goal in Premier League history when the Italian hit a sumptuous scissor-kick volley against Wimbledon.

3. Home 1993-95

The first kit the Hammers wore in the Premier League was arguably one of the best. The blue chevrons to go with the blue sleeves was a nice inclusion. It was while wearing this kit that they famously denied Manchester United the title in 1995.

2. Away 2001-02

The 2001-02 season saw the Hammers achieve their joint second highest finish in the Premier League era as they ended the campaign seventh. The almost-all blue strip was worn for the impressive win at Old Trafford, where a young Jermain Defoe really announced himself with the only goal.

1. Home 2014-15

The home shirt worn during the 2014-15 season would have surely evoked a sense of nostalgia as it looked much like the shirt the team wore during the mid-1980s, including during the season when they finished third in the top flight, which remains their joint highest finish of all time.
