Sunderland manager Simon Grayson admits interest in Robert Snodgrass and the West Ham winger could be a leading star in the Championship.
Sunderland manager Simon Grayson has admitted interest in signing Robert Snodgrass from West Ham United this summer.
The BBC reports that Snodgrass has been told he is surplus to requirements at the London Stadium and can leave the club and Grayson has suggested the Black Cats could make a move.

“When people like him become available you would be foolish not to consider it,” the 47-year-old said.
“That would be a deal dictated by finances. Can we do it? Who knows, but we might ask the question.”
Snodgrass only joined the Hammers in January on a £10.2m deal from Hull City and signed a three-and-a-half year contract with the East London club.
Yet the 29-year-old has failed to impress manager Slaven Bilic and is already being moved on, with Grayson taking interest after missing out on Bournemouth’s Max Gradel to Toulouse despite agreeing a deal with the Cherries for the winger.
However, signing Snodgrass could actually be an upgrade on Gradel, because although the Scotland international may have struggled for form over the past six months, at Championship level he could be a leading star.
With the likes of Hull, Leeds United and Norwich City, the wideman has scored 23 goals and provided 29 assists in 104 appearances in the second tier of English football.
In truth, despite being snubbed at West Ham, Snodgrass was one of the Tigers’ key players before his departure from the KCOM Stadium and could arguably still compete in the lower reaches of the top flight, so if Sunderland could sign him it would be a real coup.
