West Ham’s Samir Nasri comments on Arsenal fans’ jeers

Samir Nasri played for West Ham United against his former club Arsenal at the weekend.

West Ham United attacking midfielder Samir Nasri has suggested to The Mirror that he was not bothered by the jeers from the Arsenal fans at the weekend.

Nasri was jeered by the Arsenal supporters during the Premier League game between the Gunners and West Ham on Saturday afternoon.

The 31-year-old attacking midfielder was on the books of the Gunners from 2008 until 2011 before he moved to Premier League rivals Manchester City.

The Frenchman has joined the Hammers on a free transfer in the January transfer window.

Nasri told The Mirror when asked about the jeers from Arsenal fans: “Five years ago, I would have been into all that controversy – I would have answered them or done something.

“But today I just try to enjoy every moment because I have a second chance. Not everyone in life gets a second chance.”

Against Arsenal on Saturday afternoon, Nasri played 71 minutes, provided the assist for Declan Rice’s goal, took one shot, had a pass accuracy of 84.4%, and played three key passes, according to WhoScored.

The win against Arsenal in the London derby means that West Ham are now ninth in the Premier League table with 31 points from 22 matches.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side will return to action next weekend when they take on Bournemouth away from home in the Premier League.
