The West Ham United ace would be a useful addition to the Middlesbrough squad.
Boro have made an inauspicious start to life in the Championship, with two wins and two draws coming from their opening four games, and Garry Monk will surely be looking to strengthen his options further still before the transfer window slams shut at the end of this month.
Monk has deployed a 4-3-3 formation in every single Championship game so far this season, but he should at least explore the possibility of alternating that with a 4-2-3-1 system, so that his Middlesbrough side do not become too predictable to play against.
To do this though, the Boro boss would need to sign at least one established winger, to fill one of the wide attacking roles, and with this in mind, he should consider a move for Hammers flop Robert Snodgrass.
The 29-year-old has struggled to establish himself at the London Stadium, since joining West Ham from Hull City in January, but he undoubtedly still has plenty left to offer at the highest level, and a change of scenery might be just what he needs to help reinvigorate his stuttering career.
The Scotland international possesses wonderful technical ability, and the manner in which he runs with the ball seemingly stuck to his feet would offer the Teesside outfit a totally different threat in wide areas.
Snodgrass also possesses one of the most dangerous deliveries in the game, and with the likes of Britt Assombalonga, Ashley Fletcher and Rudy Gestede to aim for in the middle, he could be a real asset for Monk’s men.
Following the whole host of new arrivals at West Ham, Slaven Bilic would surely be open to sanctioning the Scot’s exit, and if Boro offered somewhere in the region of what the Hammers paid for him seven months ago, then they might just be able to brig him to the Riverside Stadium before the transfer window slams shut.
