Robert Snodgrass has turned his West Ham United career around.

One of the great surprises of West Ham United’s season has been the form of winger Robert Snodgrass, making a mockery of comments made about him this time last year.
The Scot was signed by Slaven Bilic in January 2017 having starred for Hull City, but he ended up being West Ham’s replacement for Dimitri Payet – and that was never going to work.
After just a matter of months at West Ham, Snodgrass was frozen out and then loaned to Aston Villa, where he impressed and almost helped them win promotion, losing to Fulham in the Championship play-off final.
Few expected Snodgrass to stay at West Ham but he knuckled down and forced his way into Manuel Pellegrini’s setup, and has really kicked on in Andriy Yarmolenko’s absence down the right flank.
The 31-year-old has three assists and a goal in his last three games, including a stunning equaliser in Saturday’s 3-2 win over Crystal Palace as his great form continues.

It’s made all the more incredible given that, this time last year, West Ham co-owner David Sullivan told The Guardian that his kids were begging him not to sign Snodgrass from Hull in the first place.
They were ill-advised comments regardless, but Snodgrass is now making a mockery of those comments and becoming an unlikely hero for the Hammers – and you won’t find any of the Sullivans criticising him now.
