West Ham United are reluctant to sign from Arsenal and Manchester City attacking midfielder Samir Nasri on a long-term contract, according to The Mirror.

It has been reported that West Ham want to secure the services of Nasri on a free transfer in January.

The Premier League club will reportedly hand the attacking midfielder a contract until the end of the season worth £80,000 per week.

According to The Mirror, the West Ham chiefs are reluctant to give Nasri a long-term contract due to fitness and injury concerns.

Good decision?

Andy Carroll and Jack Wilshere are on massive wages, as reported by The Mirror, but the striker and the midfielder was on the sidelines at the moment due to injuries.

Nasri is working hard to be match fit, and it remains to be seen if he is able to get back to his best once he recovers full fitness.

It would be a smart decision from West Ham to hand Nasri short-term deal so that they can gauge how he does in the second half of the season.

Handing a 31-year-old a contract worth £80,000 per week for two or three years without checking how well he plays after serving a long ban would not make any sense.
