Newcastle United should consider a move for the West Ham United youngster.

According to a report from Football.London, West Ham are willing to sell Reece Oxford for just £10 million this summer, and for that price, Rafa Benitez should not hesitate to bring him to Newcastle.

The Spaniard is reportedly keen to bolster his ranks at St James’ Park, with the additions of a centre-back and defensive midfielder thought to feature highly on his wish-list, according to a report from the Northern Echo.

With this in mind, Oxford is seemingly the ideal summer signing for the Magpies, considering the fact that he can operate in both of the positions that Rafa has identified as areas that are in need of strengthening.

The 19-year-old is a real talent, and possesses the kind of ability that would surely make him a real hit amongst the Toon Army.

Oxford burst onto the scene with West Ham three years ago as a then 16-year-old, when he made his debut for the senior team during the Hammers’ opening day 2-0 away win at Arsenal.

He oozes class in every department of his game, and it is hard to understand why West Ham are seemingly so willing to sell him.

Standing at 6ft 3in tall, Oxford is an impressive physical specimen, and he is very strong in the air. He is also quick along the ground, as well as being a wonderful reader of the game.

The West Ham youngster possesses good vision and has a useful array of passing – two attributes that enable him to play in midfield as well as in central defence.

For just £10 million, Newcastle could secure themselves a real bargain by bringing Oxford to St James’ Park, and if he goes on to fulfil his potential, that price will begin to look like mere pocket change.
