The West Ham United youngster would be a great addition to the Burnley squad.
Burnley manager Sean Dyche
Clarets boss Sean Dyche has performed miracles during his tenure at Turf Moor, but in what will surely be the most competitive Premier League campaign since its’ inception in 1992, his hardest challenge is arguably still ahead of him.
It will be of pivotal importance to Burnley’s chances of survival that Dyche makes a handful of smart acquisitions this summer, and an ideal place to start would be by taking Hammers defender Reece Oxford on loan.
The 18-year-old has never really been given an opportunity to shine with West Ham, despite making a sensational debut against Arsenal as a 16-year-old in August 2015, and spent the second half of last season with Championship side Reading.
He is at an age now where regular first-team football will be vital for his progression, and playing under Dyche for a season at Turf Moor would be the ideal outcome for all parties concerned.
Oxford is one of the most highly-rated young defenders in the game. Standing at 6ft 3in, he is commanding in the air, and plays with a certain level of maturity and authority that defies his tender years.

He is also quick along the ground, and has excellent technique when in possession of the football. The only thing missing from his game is that little bit of nouse and know-how, which will only come with regular action.
And playing under a manager like Dyche, with his footballing philosophy falling under the purist category, Oxford would surely raise his game to even higher levels, and return to the Hammers the following season a better all-round player.
A win-win situation for all those involved.
