Glasgow Rangers manager Steven Gerrard should attempt to bring the West Ham United youngster to Ibrox this summer.

Steven Gerrard shakes hands with Dave King as he is unveiled as the new manager of Rangers football Club at Ibrox Stadium on May 4, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has plenty of work to do at Ibrox this summer, if he is to build a group of players who are capable of making a sustained push for the Scottish Premiership title this season.

One particular area where he will be looking to improve is his central defensive department, and with this in mind, the Gers should consider making a loan move for West Ham’s Reece Oxford this summer.

He has spent two separate loan spells away from West Ham with Borussia Monchengladbach, and his future at the London Stadium seems uncertain to say the very least.

Rangers should offer the youngster a chance to prove himself in Britain, however, and it could be a move that benefits all parties involved.

Oxford possesses undoubted talent, and he is now approaching the age where he has to showcase his ability on a consistent basis.

Standing at 6ft 3in tall, the Hammers man is very strong in the air, whilst also being quick along the ground – two attributes that make him a fantastic all-round defender.

Oxford’s arrival at Ibrox would inject a much-needed level of youth and exuberance into Rangers’ back-line, and a loan move to Scotland would not only benefit Gerrard’s side, but it also could be the making of the 19-year-old, which would, in turn, be great news for West Ham too.
