Ravel Morrison of West Ham is wanted in Russia.
Controversial West Ham attacker Ravel Morrison is being linked with a surprise move to CSKA Moscow.
Russian newspaper Izvestia report that the England under-21 international is a target for the country’s reigning champions.
Morrison is described as a ‘major candidate for recruitment’, as the club seek to strengthen ahead of their Champions League campaign.
The former Manchester United trainee has had a mixed time at West Ham, impressive during the first part of last season, but trailing off and loaned out to QPR in the New Year.
His pre-season preparations have been disrupted by a recent arrest, and if a big offer came in, West Ham would surely listen to it.
Whether the move to Russia would appeal to Morrison is another matter, but making a fresh start could do.
The 21-year-old was recently linked with a move to Cardiff City, but the chance to play for a Champions League side, who are favourites for the title in their own country, would from a sporting perspective be a step in the right direction.
