West Ham United paid a club record fee to sign the Brazilian last month.
West Ham star Marko Arnautovic spoke to reporters whilst away in Austria on his club’s pre-season tour, and talked up the quality of new signing Felipe Anderson, putting pressure on the Brazilian to perform this season, as quoted by Football.London.
The 25-year-old moved to the Hammers from Lazio last month, for a club record fee of £41.5 million, according to BBC Sport, and many fans and pundits alike are predicting that he will take the Premier League by storm.
Anderson is a right midfielder by trade, and he possesses pace in abundance.
His arrival at the London Stadium will surely provide Manuel Pellegrini’s side with an added level of pace and power down the right hand flank, and the West Ham fans will be desperate to see their new star in competitive action.
Arnautovic, who was last season’s star man for the Hammers, talked up Anderson’s quality when speaking to reporters, highlighting how much of an impact he will surely have in the final third, as quoted by Football.London:
“Felipe Anderson, those players who played in Italy know what he is capable of and what quality he has. We paid big money for him and obviously we know he can do good stuff in front.”
West Ham kick off their Premier League campaign with a trip to Liverpool next Sunday, and Anderson will have to be at his very best, if they are to leave Anfield with anything to show for their efforts.
