West Ham United’s Jordan Hugill has been linked with a move away.

Jordan Hugill of West Ham United looks on prior to the Premier League match between Brighton and Hove Albion and West Ham United at Amex Stadium on February 3, 2018 in Brighton, England.

West Ham United have mostly focused on improving their defensive options this summer, but a new striker could still be on Manuel Pellegrini’s wish list.

Lukasz Fabianski, Ryan Fredericks and Issa Diop have all arrived to boost the back line, but a move for Nice’s Alassane Plea means that West Ham may still be looking for one more attacker.

Pellegrini arrives with the likes of Marko Arnautovic, Javier Hernandez and Andy Carroll as his striking options, but also Jordan Hugill, who is already something of a forgotten man at the London Stadium.

Signed from Preston North End on deadline day in January, Hugill arrived having hit 23 goals in 100 Championship games, but many fans were confused as to why West Ham splashed out for the former non-league striker.

A big, physical presence and hard worker in attack, Hugill was barely used by David Moyes, and played just 22 minutes in a West Ham shirt as his move continued to look bizarre.

The 26-year-old is now looking to convince Pellegrini that he can be a Premier League striker, but Football.London now report that he could be on the move this summer, with Queens Park Rangers, Sheffield Wednesday and even former club Preston thought to be keen.

Hugill may well be moved on this summer, but he took to Twitter on Wednesday evening to post a photo of himself in training, working hard ahead of the new season.

Fans took to Twitter in order to respond, with a number of fans telling him to ‘prove them wrong’ and carve out a West Ham career for himself, with others wishing him the best of luck with the club as he attempts to put himself in Pellegrini’s thoughts.
