Nottingham Forest reportedly want Martyn Waghorn of Ipswich Town, but they should look at signing Jordan Hugill on loan from West Ham United in the summer transfer window instead.

According to The Mirror (Transfer Live blog, 11:25am, Sunday, July 22, 2018), Nottingham Forest are interested in signing Martyn Waghorn, but with the same report claiming that Ipswich Town want £8 million to £10m as transfer fee for the forward, Aitor Karanka’s side should look at signing Jordan Hugill of West Ham United on loan instead.
Waghorn is one of the best forwards in the Championship, with the 28-year-old former Rangers and Sunderland man scored 16 goals and provided 11 assists in 39 Championship starts for Ipswich last season, according to WhoScored.
With Forest having already signed Lewis Grabban in the summer transfer window, manager Aitor Karanka should look at someone cost-effective, and Hugill fits the bill.
Instead of spending £8m-£10m on Waghorn especially when they have an equally proven Championship-level striker in Grabban, the Reds should try to sign Hugill on loan in the summer transfer window to enhance the depth of his attacking department.

According to The Times, the Hammers could offload the 26-year-old forward this summer, and Forest should make a loan offer.
Hugill scored 12 goals and provided two assists in 35 Championship starts for Preston during the 2016-17 campaign, and found the net eight times in 26 league starts for them before moving to West Ham in the January transfer window, according to WhoScored.
The 26-year-old has proven himself at the Championship, and the West Ham forward would be a smart signing Forest on a season-long loan deal.
